Ellibs Oy, a Finnish company specialising in the sales, marketing and technology of ebooks, has concluded a significant partnership agreement with the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology (GPNTB), the first in Russia to introduce Ellibs Oy’s virtual library.
The Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology is the leading supplier of library systems in the country, as well as an important publisher of non-fiction. The objective of this partnership is to agree on deliveries of Ellibs’ library system to Russia and, on the other hand, the global distribution of Russian non-fiction through Ellibs’ ebook store.
An ebook refers to an electronic book downloaded over the web, which can be bought or borrowed from a library similarly to a printed book. In case of a library, the book automatically returns to the library after the lending period has elapsed. The advantages of a digital book include immediate availability and versatile search properties: for example, an ebook allows you to look for information as if using a search engine.
