Parga - a town in Greece is a photo ebook that consists of over 100 pages of color pictures of Parga, Greece, taken by photographer Hemmo Vattulainen. The book includes photos from Parga City, Valtos Beach, the Venetian Castle, Nekromandeion - oracles, the Memorial of Zolongo, Kassope - a Hellenic time town, the Acero River, the Afrotiten's cave, a trail, olivewoods.

Parga lies on the shore of the Ionian Sea, in the province of Epirus, in the northwest continental Greece. Parga is an idyllic small town with 3000 inhabitants, behind rise high hills and it is surrounded by old olive tree groves. Between the houses mender narrow streets and there is an italic impression in the architecture. The Venetian fortress reigns the town from the hills. The Venetian built the fortress to protect Parga from Turkish attacks in the 13th century. In the 14th century began the Venetian domination, which lasted to the end of the 18th century. The French and the English reigned some time and then Ali Pasha bought Parga from the English in 1817. But the inhabitants of Parga didn’t bear the Turkish ruler and they escaped to Corfu. The offspring of Parganiotes returned in 1913, when the province of Epirus was joined to Greece.

Necromandeion – the temple of Hades - lies 25 km from Parga. On the area there are the ruins of the temple of Hades, who is the ruler of the nether world. There the oracles kept contact with the spirits of the dead. Later a church was built on the ruins of the temple.
The memorial of Zalango was built in the memory of the village women from Soul. They jumped of the mountain choosing rather deah than domination of the Turkish Ali Pasha and his troops.

The ruins of Kassiope from Hellenic time lies 60 km from Parga. Kassope was a typical small town with 8000-10000 inhabitants.
