The Bickerstaff Partridge Paper

In Jonathan Swift’s The BickerstaffPartridge Paper Swift uses this paper to make a fictional satire of astrology. He writes under the pseudonym of Dr. Isaac Bickerstaff to a certain John Partridge about some of his predictions in order to ridicule the art of astrology and especially the ignorant teachers or the humbugs. He presents to the world the famous prophecies of Merlin, who lived about a thousand years earlier.
