The Flying Star
Gilbert Keith Chesterton’s The flying stars opens announcing a theft which took place during a Christmas party in Colonel Adams’ house. There were: Sir Leopold and his daughter Ruby, who was in love with the socialist James Crook, the big and noisy James Blount, and of course, Father Brown. The Canadian Blount offers a pantomime: he will play Harlequin and he will be waiting for the arrival of a famous actor, Florian, who has promised to disguise as a policeman for the party. When the fake cop arrives, Blount beats him. After this scene, Sir Leopold discovers that he has lost his diamonds (the flying stars) so he accuses first of all Father Brown himself, then the Socialist Crook. Father Brown, however, has already figured out everything, so he manages to find the culprit and he attempts to redeem him...
