Far more than purely technical systems , bandwidth or algorithms , information retrieval is foremost a human issue. Whether to solve problems , learn, communicate , entertain , move, we have a set of more efficient , faster and more mobile technology solutions. But if the technical and technological discoveries are constantly increasing , the main factors explaining the failures fall human factors.
This work addresses the information retrieval in digital environments in terms of ergonomic psychology , that is to say, by focusing on the human behaviors , needs, expectations, limits and process mentally . It analyzes the main conceptual models and offers several examples of user - centered studies to understand what are the interests to continue in this way combining psychology and ergonomics.
