Written during World War I by Harry Brodribb Irving, this is a study of the crimes of some of the world's most infamous criminals.
Irving spent much of his life in the theatre, and his flair for the dramatic is displayed in his writings.
He went on to found 'Our Society' with, amongst others, Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle. 'Our Society' survives today as the so called 'Murder' Club in London, where old crimes are discussed at regularly held dinners.
