Digital Rights Management

Digital Rights Management - DRM for short - provides the means to control rights related to ebooks. These rights can be indicated in context with the book as instructions for use or as related information.

The copyrights for Ellibs ebooks are protected through a technical solution. Technology developed by Adobe makes it possible to distribute ebooks over the Internet to those users in particular who have the rights to access the ebook concerned. This involves controlling the illegal use and distribution of ebooks by a completely new technology.

The Ellibs lending systems allows ebooks to be circulated between various borrowers. The basic idea is simple: one volume can only be used by one user at any one time. The ebook becomes available once the loan period expires or when the borrower returns the loan.

“For Taylor & Francis, eBooks mark an important area of future growth. Our selection already consists of more than 10,000 titles. Ellibs is one of our oldest and best partners in Europe”, says Christoph Chesner, Sales Director at Taylor & Francis.

Taylor & Francis is one the world’s leading academic publishers, joined by a number of renowned publishing houses which include Routledge, Cavendish Publishing and Garland Science, to name a few.
