GUIDELINES FOR PUBLISHER
Please provide Ellibs with the following information when making your ebook
available for the market. Inserts in the boxes below contain specific data with
examples and additional information.
1. Ebook
The relevant titles should be provided in PDF format.
1.1 File Size
The recommended maximum
size of a title is 20MB.

- An e-book containing almost
entirely text (with the number of pages varying between 200 and 300) is
usually less than 1MB. - File size of a title consisting exclusively of
images may be closer to 20MB. While it is possible to make available titles
with file size in excess of 20MB this can become rather undesirable for the
customer. |
1.2
Resolution
Sufficient
resolution for an ebook is 72 dpi.
Titles
with considerably higher resolution will be optimised to a smaller file size.
1.3 Cover
image
The cover
image or any comparable image of the title should be placed on the first page.

Generally, it is advisable to
keep the cover image of the e-book identical with that of the printed
version. This makes it easier for the customer to distinguish the desired
title in the virtual library of the viewer software. |

Linking
You can
add value to your title by providing links.

Active table of contents linking subject headings
to the relevant section of the book.

External references
You can
include links to Websites, for instance.

Protection
Please
provide Ellibs with the book in its original PDF file format unprotected.

Our management of copyrights is carried out by Adobe Content Server, which
only allows processing of files with no protection applied. |
2. Cover Image of the Book
Please
provide the relevant file in JPG format.
2.1 Image for the Ebookstore
An image file in JPG format:

resolution 72 dpi
in RGB
format.

The blurb image of the ebook at the store should be the same as the one
used on the first page of the electronic title. Only send the blurb image of
a printed version of the book if the front cover of the ebook is the same. |
2.2 Publicity image
You may
provide a large-size image to be used for advertising or other promotional
material, as required.
3. Ebook Information
Please provide
the required information in a separate text file (in .txt format) as an email
attachment.

3.1
ISBN Ebooks have their specific ISBN
numbers not to be confused with those of the printed versions. ISBN, International Standard
Book Number Each title including an ebook
is provided with unique ISBN number, which is an integral part of the book's
title information. This identifier cannot be changed or reassigned to any
other book, not even when the book is sold out because it is used by
libraries. The ISBN number of a
printed version cannot be assigned to an ebook. The ISBN system is a
uniform system established on international and national levels. |

are revised by releasing a new edition with the relevant changes. The revised

This is the consumer price shown in the ebookstore with
VAT 22% included. It is recommended to set the price of an ebook slightly
below the suggested retail price of the printed version. |
3.11 Subject Keywords
The publisher provides the subject keywords
for the book.
3.12 Classification
Titles are classified based on the
universal decimal classification (UDC) system used by the libraries.

. 3.13 Book Protection Settings
3.13.1
Restrictions on Use
Various restrictions can be specified on the book use as
follows:
3.12.1.1 printing, and
3.12.1.2 copying to the clipboard.

Ellibs should
be informed of any implemented restriction on use. Printing and copying to
the clipboard can be disabled in whole or in part as required. For instance,
printing can be limited to 10 pages within 24 hours. |
3.12.2 Status in
Ebookstore
A given
title can be assigned as follows:
3.13.2.1 Active status,
allowing it be viewed by anybody visiting the ebookstore,
or
3.13.2.2 Passive status,
meaning the title is not visible to the public. In this case the
title is made available to specified target groups.
3.14 Blurb
The text
on the back cover or part of the introduction can be used for the blurb. You
can also provide additional information on the book by including the table of
content.
4. Submission of Material
Please
provide any relevant material by email, or on CD or DVD disc.
4.1 By
email
All required
material should be submitted in one email message with all relevant files
